You spoke. We listened.

The needs assessment was an exciting process. Our board members trekked across the county to have formal and informal conversations about the current state of recreation programming and facilities.
We conducted:
  • 6 Public Meetings with 92 total Participants
  • 12 Stakeholder Interviews
  • 2 Recreation Staff Focus Groups

And mailed surveys to 8,556 households. 1,196 of you responded by the deadline, and you gave us some great ideas about what Morgan County residents want for the future.

The big takeaways from the Morgan County Recreation Needs Assessment taught us that Morgan County is ready for:
  • Coordinated recreation planning between towns.
  • Include smaller towns like Hillrose, Log Lane Village, Snyder, and Weldona in planning.
  • An indoor, year-round aquatics center.
  • Improved facilities, like a renovated outdoor pool in Brush, a new facility in Wiggins, and additional baseball fields.
  • Combine funding to sustain projects through small taxes, grants, user fees, and municipalities.
