Morgan Strong is an organization that loves to create. We create relationships with board members across the county. We create innovative ideas for sustainable rec. We build bridges between unincorporated county families and city citizens.
Our mission statement is, Connecting Morgan County residents of all ages to fun, affordable, and expansive recreation.
Learn from these four points on how this vision is all about addition – no subtraction.
- More Jobs. Currently there are only 6 full time municipal recreation professionals serving a population of over 28,000 residents. Passing the recreation district will provide funding for more staff who are dedicated to serving residents in all corners of the county like Snyder, Orchard, and Log Lane Village. No current recreation employees will lose their jobs as a result of passing the district. Current recreation employees would in fact have more funding to accomplish their work and more support staff to pull off great things.
- Enhance & Improve. The Morgan County Recreation District will not take away current programming or reduce staff. In fact, passing the recreation district will add additional revenue to help support projects and staff in Brush!, Fort Morgan, and Wiggins. The district will work closely with towns and citizens to work on projects meaningful to them.
- More Representation. There will be five elected Board members who will help create the vision for recreation in the district and pass the budget. This will formally include unincorporated residents for the first time.
- Ambitious, Yet Fiscally Safe: We worked with the best in finance and recreation and they determined we can safely fund about $30 million in projects.
Morgan Strong wants to keep great recreation going and infuse it with additional resources.
